The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team has introduced the first-ever Aramco Innovation Award, a global recognition to foster excellence in robotics and technology among young innovators. This award celebrates creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills as part of Aramco’s commitment to supporting future STEM leaders.
WRO will present the award at the International Final 2024, held from 28 to 30 November in İzmir, Türkiye. The winning team will receive an exclusive Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team Innovation Tour, granting a rare, behind-the-scenes experience at the AMR Technology Campus in Silverstone, UK.
As Khalid A. Al Zamil, Aramco’s Vice President of Public Affairs, mentioned, “By partnering with Aston Martin and World Robot Olympiad, we hope to inspire young minds to explore new possibilities.” Luca Furbatto, Engineering Director at Aston Martin, added, “We’re excited to provide students with an insider’s view of how a Formula One® team operates, helping inspire the next generation of engineers and designers.”
This award will go to the top team in the Future Innovators Category (senior age group), offering winners the opportunity to engage with Aston Martin engineers and learn how cutting-edge technology drives advancements in Formula One®. Claus Ditlev Christensen, Secretary General of WRO, noted, “This collaboration gives students an extraordinary chance to experience the latest in technology, fostering the next wave of leaders in robotics.”
