While preparations for WRO 2023 in Panama are in the final stages, World Robot Olympiad Association and Bilim Kahramanları Derneği (Science Heroes Association) announce that WRO 2024 will be held in Izmir, Türkiye. The event is scheduled for November 2024 and will bring together talented young participants from around the world.

During a press conference in Izmir, Tunç Soyer, the mayor of Izmir, shared his excitement and pride in hosting the World Robot Olympiad International Final. He believes that STEAM education is vital for a better future. He expressed his commitment to supporting the Science Heroes Association in reaching more children and ensuring a successful event in Izmir.

Representing the Science Heroes Association, Fatma Bezek emphasised the importance of the World Robot Olympiad in promoting STEAM education. She mentioned that the event would allow the local community to understand the significance of STEAM education and showcase the beauty of Izmir and Türkiye as a whole.

Claus Ditlev Christensen, Secretary General of World Robot Olympiad Association, expressed his enthusiasm for Izmir as the host city for WRO 2024. He highlighted Izmir’s support for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) education and its previous experience in organising robotics events. WRO looks forward to collaborating with the Science Heroes Association and the city of Izmir to create a fantastic event.
