Q: Are teams allowed to bring liquids other than water as part of their solution demonstration?

Due to this year’s theme, teams may bring up to a total of 1 liter of non-dangerous fluid materials for demonstration purposes. This may include, but is not limited to, colored water, non-toxic paint, gels, or food-grade liquids (e.g. syrup or oil), as long as they are safe and do not pose any risk. Teams should also bring appropriate protective coverings to avoid any spills or stains at the event location.

Q: How is the match time determined?

The match time is randomized after the robots are ready in a waiting state (waiting for the start button to be pressed), and at the same time as the ball positions are randomized. The method of randomization may vary and is decided by the Event Organizers. Examples include: Rolling a standard 6-sided die: Match Time = 60 seconds + (d6 × 10 seconds) Rolling a 12-sided die: Match Time = 60 seconds + (d12 × 5 seconds) Using an online randomizer tool: https://rs2026.wro.events/ The selected match time is announced at the start of the match, allowing both teams and spectators to know how much time is available. * Note: the randomizer tool is configured for mobile phones, if you open it on a computer please resize the window to portrait/phone dimensions. That will show the full RoboSports field with placements of the balls and the time of the match.

Q: Are there limitations on the number of controllers?

Correct answer (24th of April 2026) This year we allow any number and type of controllers. (Rule 8.12 does not apply this year) Wrong earlier published answer: While in the RoboMission category more than one controller may be allowed, in the RoboSports category each robot must have only one controller, in line with Rule 8.12.
