The match time is randomized after the robots are ready in a waiting state (waiting for the start button to be pressed), and at the same time as the ball positions are randomized.
The method of randomization may vary and is decided by the Event Organizers. Examples include:
Rolling a standard 6-sided die: Match Time = 60 seconds + (d6 × 10 seconds)
Rolling a 12-sided die: Match Time = 60 seconds + (d12 × 5 seconds)
Using an online randomizer tool: https://rs2026.wro.events/
The selected match time is announced at the start of the match, allowing both teams and spectators to know how much time is available.
*Note: the randomizer tool is configured for mobile phones, if you open it on a computer please resize the window to portrait/phone dimensions. That will show the full RoboSports field with placements of the balls and the time of the match.
