MEET SMART WAREHOUSE
The new Future Engineers challenge

Ready to build a robot that can make its own decisions? Inspired by real warehouse robotics, Smart Warehouse challenges you to design and build an autonomous mobile robot that can perceive its environment, navigate, make decisions and act.
The challenge starts with the 2027 season.
Welcome to Smart Warehouse
Warehouses around the world use autonomous robots to move goods and respond when their environment changes. Now it is your turn to build one.
Design and integrate the mechanical systems, electronics and software that allow your robot to navigate, make decisions and interact with physical objects autonomously.
PERCEIVE
NAVIGATE
DECIDE
ACT

Use sensors and computer vision to gather information.
Plan routes and move autonomously.
Process information and choose what to do next.
Interact with objects and complete tasks.
Built like real engineering

What will you work with?
You get to explore sensing and computer vision, autonomous navigation, robot decision-making, object handling and manipulation, mechanical and mechatronic design, software engineering and engineering documentation. Depending on your solution, you may also explore AI and machine learning.
Two age groups

- Senior: ages 14–19
- Advanced: ages 18–23
Both age groups use the same warehouse environment, with different levels of mission complexity.
