It can be a challenge to get teams to transfer from physical competitions to online. But WRO USA, who are doing an online tournament in a few days, had great success using both e-mail to existing teams and social media to reach new teams.

The World Robot Olympiad International Final 2021 will take place online instead of on location in Germany. The next live international final will take place in Germany in 2022.

This year many of our national organizers and partners has come up with new ways to keep our young robot enthusiasts engaged. Our university partner in Russia, Innopolis University share how they moved their Open University Olympiad online.

Premium partner Juniper Networks is offering a prize of US$10,000 to World Robot Olympiad. The aim is to encourage young women to become future inventors and scientists.

WRO Switzerland had to stop their WRO season due to lockdown. Now some restrictions have been removed and the plan is to have four 'Category Finals' in November instead of one big final.
