Singapore, November 10, 2025 – World Robot Olympiad (WRO®) is proud to announce the return — and exciting expansion — of the Aramco Innovation Award for 2025. Building on the resounding success of its 2024 debut and the young winners from Venezuela, the award will now spotlight three visionary teams from the Future Innovators category at the WRO International Final in Singapore, taking place 26–28 November.
The Aramco Innovation Award, created in partnership with WRO, celebrates youth-led robotics solutions that tackle real-world challenges with creativity, engineering skill, and social impact. Through this partnership, Aramco is supporting opportunities that encourage learning and innovation.
Its impact is already visible: in Venezuela, participation in the Future Innovators category has more than doubled this year. The National Organizer credits both the Robotic Dreamers’ win at last year’s international final and the Aramco Innovation Award for this surge in interest, proof that one team’s success can inspire a whole nation.
Suspense at the 2025 STEM Awards
Last year, award details were revealed upfront. This year is different: the 2025 prize will remain under wraps until the three winning teams are announced on stage at the international final in Singapore.
“Keeping the prize a secret signals that the core of the award is the journey — from teamwork, challenges and long nights to standing on a global stage. It reflects the spirit of STEM and the nature of innovation: you don’t always know where an idea takes you, but it’s the discovery along the way that drives progress. We’re excited to partner again with Aramco in 2025 to expand the award and elevate even more stories of impact,” said Claus Ditlev Christensen, Secretary General of the World Robot Olympiad Association.
“Empowering the future generation of pioneers through STEM education is a key part of our global citizenship identity,” said Hussain Hanbazazah, Vice President of Communications Operations and Corporate Citizenship at Aramco. “Through the expansion of the Aramco Innovation Award in partnership with the World Robot Olympiad, we aim to create more opportunities for students, inspire young minds to explore new possibilities in robotics, and celebrate young pioneers.”
A Global Stage for Local Innovation
In 2024, the inaugural award was presented to team Robotic Dreamers from Venezuela whose project focused on protecting human lives from occupational hazards. As part of their prize, the team visited the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team HQ in Silverstone, UK — where they explored cutting-edge STEM in action, engaged with experts, and saw firsthand how imagination fuels innovation.
Looking Ahead
The top three winning teams in the Future Innovators Senior Age group (14–19 years of age) will be announced live during the WRO International Final in Singapore on 26–28 November. Leading up to the event, WRO will continue to highlight key milestones and share updates from this year’s Future Innovators.
