Position Overview:
WRO is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Game Development Coordinator to join our international team. This full-time position plays a central role in designing, refining, and coordinating the robotics game concepts used in WRO’s international competitions.
The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of educational robotics, hands-on experience with robotics competitions, and the ability to translate stakeholder input and strategic objectives into clear, engaging competition concepts. As this is a fully remote position, we are looking for a self-driven professional who thrives in an independent work environment and is comfortable collaborating across time zones and cultures.
Experience with WRO is a strong advantage. Experience with other community-based robotics competitions is also relevant.

Key Responsibilities:
Game & Concept Development
- Develop and refine new annual game concepts for WRO competition categories.
- Translate strategic direction and stakeholder feedback into clear rules, missions, and game elements.
- Create prototypes, test scenarios, and documentation to validate game feasibility.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with WRO’s Operations Team, committees, partners, and educational experts.
- Facilitate structured input processes and integrate feedback into final game concepts.
- Manage timelines to ensure game publications and updates are delivered on schedule.
Technical & Hands-On Work
- Build and test physical game elements and prototypes using robotics kits and materials.
- Validate rules through hands-on trials and simulations.
- Support the creation of visual and written rule materials, diagrams, and guides.
Event & Collaboration Support
- Participate in selected WRO events to observe game execution, gather feedback, and support implementation.
- Attend in-person team meetings and workshops as needed.
- Contribute to improving WRO’s long-term game development processes and standards.
Qualifications:
Required
- Strong knowledge of educational robotics (hardware, programming, classroom use).
- Experience with robotics competition formats, rules, and event operations.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage complex input streams.
- Hands-on technical skills for building, testing, and iterating physical game elements.
- High intrinsic motivation and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
Preferred
- Direct experience with World Robot Olympiad as coach, judge, organizer, former participants or volunteer.
- Experience with other international robotics competitions.
- Background in STEM education, engineering, or related fields.
