Arduino Education has joined WRO as a Silver Sponsor. The world-renown open-source computing hardware and software producer’s equipment is often used as part of WRO competition entries and now they are working with us to encourage more teams to use their solutions and to do so more effectively.

WRO’s vision is to pursue a future where every curious young person, regardless of their background, is inspired and equipped to achieve their full potential through science, engineering and technology. Arduino Education want to empower the next generations of students to be the disruptors of the future. As such, there is huge synergy between the two organisations.

Teams have often chosen to use Arduino equipment for their WRO competition entries and now they are working with us to encourage more teams to use their solutions and to do so more effectively. As an official sponsor, Arduino Education will be offering tutorials, forums, virtual testing and training environments, and guidance on how to use Arduino products for support in the various competition categories and also for school curriculum requirements.

The two most recent WRO competition categories – Future Innovators and Future Engineers – offer teams complete freedom over the choice of hardware and software that is used. With a range of high-quality devices of their own and many other technology companies creating approved accessories and kits to accompany Arduino boards, WRO participants can find solutions that will enable them to build their ideas according to their ability and budgets. Arduino Education will be working with WRO to support our community of teams, coaches and educators with the latest software, hardware and curriculum content, enabling their WRO projects to be as inspiring and effective as possible.

Lotte Andersen, Arduino Education Business Unit Lead, says: “It’s really exciting to support students around the world on their STEAM learning journey by establishing this partnership with WRO. For us, it’s all about a way to help empower young people to shape their future.”

Claus Ditlev Christensen, Secretary General of World Robot Olympiad Association, says: “A WRO partnership with Arduino Education, with their popular, high-value, easy access, innovative, open-source technology, will truly enable our community and our training and tournament programmes to grow and flourish leading to many more young people being inspired and enabled to pursue careers in STEAM.”
